Al igual que Madvayne esta banda surgió en 1996 en Illinois cuando David Draiman fue aceptado por una banda (respondido a un anuncio en el cual buscaban cantante).
Draiman al poco tiempo paso a ser el líder de la banda, lo que explica el tema de la discusión de benevolencia a un ser superior en sus letras y el logo del grupo es que David era de una familia muy religiosa a la cual se le rebeló.
Esta banda al poco tiempo, 2000, lanzo su primer single "Stupify", luego del single, obviamente, al primer álbum, The Sickness, el cual los lanzo al éxito.
Al siguiente año participaron en el Ozzfest al igual que en el año 2003 después de haber lanzado su segundo álbum llamado Believe, que también fue un gran éxito, es mas, fue puesto en la lista de éxitos como el numero 1.
En el 2005, de gira junto a otras 2 bandas, Disturbed presento su tercer álbum, Ten Thousand Fists, el cual en su debut también termino numero 1 en Estados Unidos.
Entre los primeros 6 meses del 2008 salio (en mi opinion), el mejor disco de Disturbed...¡Indestructible!
